The United Nations’ “Education For All Global Monitoring Report of 2005” says that “debates continue to rage about the appropriate levels of teacher salary costs, which represent by far the greatest expenditure, especially in developing countries, often leaving a fraction (barely 1 percent in several cases) for textbooks and other teaching materials. There is a need to pay teachers well enough to attract and retain qualified individuals.”

GOOD NEWS ELECTRCITY CONSUMERS

Here’s a piece of good news for electricity consumers – which is practically all of us, from the poor to the rich. Electricity rates should go down in the near future, if amendments to the EPIRA Law are passed by Congress and the Senate. In the Senate, no less than the Senate President, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile is a strong advocate for this.
